Oh my God, it’s really quite ugly though: I wasn’t expecting much, but you can really tell they’re dragging it out. It's been fifteen years now that they've been stretching things beyond necessity, but here they really went too far; until now they had some decency (I remember when it came out, we young rocker slackers considered A Matter of ecc. their best album since 1988 because “damn man, it’s even a bit prog”) but not here. Then there are certain melodic outbursts from a street-corner musician that really clash with these drawn-out timings.

The album doesn't surprise but it certainly doesn't bore, and that's no small feat. I saw FFS live yesterday, and they're a well-oiled machine: the songs from this album come through nicely, the old ones like Achoo and This Town Ain't Big Enough were the highlights, and even the famous tracks by Franz Ferdinand (which I can't remember the titles of at all) were revitalized by the collaboration. The most surprising thing, however, was to see how many excited fans the Franz still have, especially those underdeveloped twenty-five-year-olds next to me who started moshing as if we were at a Metallica concert.

The only thing that comes to mind when I see this cover is iWhitesnake. Who are doing covers of Venom. On that note, I wanted to ask: when the hell is glam metal going to come back in style?
