I don't quite share the review; what you say, in my opinion, could apply well to Kill Bill, for example, a great film but not a masterpiece like Reservoir Dogs. This film makes me think that Tarantino wanted to repeat more or less the formula of Kill Bill while ensuring that the resulting film had even greater commercial potential. A good film, nonetheless, a 4 and that's it.
