It's not always a choice to not make a suite. Sonic Youth, like many other bands that are much more garage than rock, don't have the ability to do so and make you believe that they don't want to.

Lux still with the Sonic Youth!! They suck and can't play......... I really have to call the exorcist to drive away easycure.

The four chords were referring to the Cure and the Ramones. Still, I don't see the masterpiece in that pop album "Marquee Moon." I swear to you, for me they are just catchy little songs that are easy to compose. I prefer the Supertramp of "Breakfast in America." I do like the guitar work, though, even if it's simple and clean (for example, in "Elevation"). Don’t take it the wrong way, but "Metropolis" is another story.

Okay Lux, but let’s not turn this into a competition of who knows more. Otherwise, I’ll start listing bands too. Maybe you’re right, "Systematic Chaos" isn’t the masterpiece to be compared to "Rock Bottom," but stop saying nonsense about Sonic like they’re the Van der Graaf Generator. Honestly, I prefer Marlene Kuntz. And how can you compare Soft Machine or Wyatt to Dream Theater? It makes no sense. It’s like asking who is stronger between Maradona and Michael Jordan. Let’s not fall into useless comparisons.

Muse91, I agree with you. You rightly speak of points of view, claiming "in my opinion A Change of Seasons is the best album." These kids have no idea about the compositional work that goes into a suite like that, or think that one morning you just wake up and write a "Metropolis." It seems to me that most detractors of Dream Theater believe that composing music requires no study, that music is just garage and LSD. Anyway, the comparison with Sonic is truly ridiculous and pretentious.

And you would be an ex-fan of DT, perhaps you were following the trends. Do you think I should read your review to give a rating to the album? Yours is yet another confirmation of a very trendy tendency unfortunately aimed at discrediting Dream Theater. I already told your friend that it's impossible to demonstrate non-art, inexpressiveness, coldness, etc., simply because they relate to the spectrum of emotions. It's no coincidence that anyone, even you, recognizes the technical prowess of Dream Theater, just as they note Gilmour's less is more approach compared to Steve Howe's, for example. But this applies to all fields; even in art, a painting by Caravaggio or Fontana's perforated canvas are different expressions of the same concept. And if you notice, I don't criticize adjectives and phrases like "I hate them," "they don't drive me crazy," "they don't excite me" at all. I do not accept the impulse to objectify what is subjective. That's why I dare to say "the Pixies make me sick" and not "the Pixies suck," or "Learning to live gives me chills" and not just "gives chills." Even you, with your four words and your evidently shallow subculture, talk about creative flatness, the ultimate expression of mediocrity, total artistic nullity, a mishmash of clichés, an anti-art tour de force, with terrifying ease. You claim to elevate your closed perspective to dogma. But while Socrates knew that he knew nothing, unfortunately, you do not know that you do not know, and this objective limitation of yours allows you to belittle what does not fit within your ranks. When I assert that the Pixies, for me—and I underline for me—do not exist, I place myself in the condition of "I know that I do not know," because my complete lack of emotional connection to this band (although there are many others of your kind) prevents me from going further and looking for the good that surely exists. I hope they taught you a bit of Socrates at school.

Lux, have the courage to sign your true name: you are esaycure. Otherwise, the coincidence of banality between the two is impossible. Or you are being plagiarized. However, the alter ego Lux is extraordinarily biased. What progress you've made, going from DT to Sonic Youth and what?? Pere Ubu. Think about it.

Even the Tool, no, we’re not there, I need to intervene. Easycure, we’ve understood that metal isn’t your thing.. This is a great band. A fusion of metal/progressive/alternative/post rock. The singer is among the best in the world and the drummer has balls of steel. Lateralus, however, cannot be compared to the masterpiece Aenima from 1996. But do you only like the 4 little chords of the Cure and the Ramones?

On "The piper at the gates of down" we completely agree, but I thought you would at least put "In the court of the crimson king" on the list, which for me is the album of the millennium.

"There are countless things that can be proven." Of course. It is provable that the earth orbits the sun, that the entropy of the universe is increasing, not the coldness of the DT or the palpability of the spirit. Your assertions are merely extreme conjectures aimed at refuting certain forms of art.
