Dear ALESSIO, what you are citing is merely the "clarification" issued to the press by the honorable parliamentarian Caruso after his statement "TREU and BIAGI are assassins!", which stirred up a hornet's nest of controversies, even (listen, listen) from the left and within his own parliamentary group. In my opinion, Caruso's declaration is as serious as Gentilini's, if not more so, considering that Biagi was truly murdered. This once again demonstrates that due to POPULIST logics, which exist on both the right and the left, absurd themes and declarations are stirred up for a democratic country. The tragedy of this unfortunate country is that you will find someone (and many) agreeing with both the vice mayor of Treviso and the honorable "disobedient" of PRC, or at most, downplaying the significance, thus implicitly becoming accomplices to those offensive phrases that border on decency, consequently offending the few people who still exercise their own independent thinking instead of (vainly) waving flags of any color.
P.S. I am on the left but not stupid.

anyway, I reiterate what I said above, the record in question is the beginning of the end for the BOSS. with chilling (and clever) arrangements.
P.S.
I listened to an acoustic version (12-string guitar + slide) of BORN IN THE USA and it's spine-tingling... confirming that certain sounds have impacted the album in question.

I wonder how you manage to throw so much crap on the STATES when today’s newspaper reports these two disheartening pieces of ITALIAN INTERNAL POLITICS, concerning both the CENTER-RIGHT and the CENTER-LEFT:
- the deputy mayor of Treviso attacks homosexuals, even invoking ethnic cleansing!;
- the no-global Caruso makes delirious statements about TREU and BIAGI...

I already said I'm not a FAN of Springsteen... but what killgod says is absolutely true: Springsteen never had any particular ambitions, he just wanted his songs to provide a backdrop to his beloved American working class - the one he comes from and is so proud of - perhaps while washing the car in the garden on a Saturday afternoon, just before heading out. It's clear that his themes are populist, simple, etc., but he has always oriented himself in this direction. When he aimed for intellectualism, when - after his success - he read some books, his lyrics sounded a bit false (see, THE GHOST OF TOM JOAD... which seems to be a paraphrase of STEINBECK). As for the E-STREET BAND - a group of rough kids from New Jersey - it is said to have been the best live band on the planet in the early '80s. The fact that the arrangements lacked creativity doesn’t matter much: the energy of Springsteen's music lies in that astonishing sound machine. Tributes to Springsteen even came from TOM WAITS, who wrote a "springsteenian" song, later covered by the BOSS: JERSEY GIRL. @AZZO you’ve made a colossal mistake: NEBRASKA is a fundamental album, held up solely by voice + guitar + harmonica, where Springsteen's poetry fits perfectly. JOHNNY 99 and the other songs from the album, all very simple but also effective, are to be remembered among the best of the early '80s. The black-and-white cover of the desolate Nebraska landscape, photographed from inside a car, completes the picture.

Someone has vainly mentioned KIND OF BLUE. In my humble opinion, I would place BILL EVANS with his magical trio among the fundamentals. I believe DAVIS is an excellent starting point: starting with BIRTH OF COOL, the PRESTIGE records, and AROUND MIDNIGHT, leading up to the monument that is KIND OF BLUE.

POLETTI, I envy you. As for certain posts about the politics of the STATES, they could very well apply to our democratic little Italy too.

Stunning album: *****. (When I was younger, I didn't appreciate the BOSS... then a friend wouldn't stop talking about it. I haven't become a "die-hard springsteenian," but I appreciate his music. This, along with NEBRASKA, his masterpiece).

Indeed, this is where the end of the BOSS begins. The arrangements of this album are criminally bad. Lariana's observation is spot on: the international (POP) consecration of Springsteen. In my opinion, someone who has written albums like NEBRASKA deserves respect.
