Paolo Conte Paris milonga

Trying to understand Paolo Conte is as exhausting as it is fascinating. Just when you think you've grasped him, understood him, made him your own, and archived him, you realize instead that you haven't understood anything at all.
I've been listening to the Avvocato for a good forty years. And just last week, I had more than a doubt: Could it be that when he sings "Le donne odiavano il Jazz, non si capisce il motivo," he's not saying that the reason isn't clear, but rather that women hated Jazz because, in this music, it's difficult to grasp the melody?
At this point, I'm leaning towards the second hypothesis, having spent time in the Astigiano and its riddles.

...and then they listen to this Brutal Death and maybe they are the Frozen Food Department managers at the Conad in Settimo Torinese, and in front of an ingrown toenail, they cry like calves.

But none of you, when you hear the expression "Brutal Death," is struck by an uncontrollable giggle...?

A review focused like few others.
The pinnacle of the work, in my opinion, is when PPP asks a boy: "Are you in favor of divorce?"
"No."
"And why?" the director presses.
"Because I'm Calabrian," is the response.

I listened to it.
The review is better than the record.

Thank you. I listened to it. A genre that's very distant from me… And yet it moved me much more than something.

Yes, of course. After all, I am also interested in all the reviews.
However, I am much less interested in those that simply evoke (or re-evoke) the sensations that this or that album has provoked in the reviewer. Often I read reviews like:
"An endless clatter, the substratum of a common journey, an orgiastic rest of an unfinished back and forth, a sly struggle of a motionless pilgrim. Ecstatic aesthetics of ethics, static ethics of aesthetics, annihilating fullness of Nothingness, dazzling incompleteness of Everything."
There you go. I will go against the tide. But such reviews - which, as is obvious, are more than legitimate - do not excite me.
On the contrary, I prefer a hyper-technical review. Or hyper-technological. Or even hyper-hyperbolic.

...how beautiful are the reviews that tell us a story, a state of mind, a backdrop.
And in the meantime, they also manage to speak to us about the album.

It is clarified that I understand as much about this genre as Bergoglio does about bondage; the review is sublime. And I keep it low-key.
