Marilyn Manson Eat Me, Drink Me

Aahhahhaa...well, come on, Marilyn Manson doesn't really do metal! First of all, his genre is a bit personal; I think he’s unique in his music...if we want to categorize him in a precise style, I would say dark with some influences of alternative rock and a bit of electronics. Then it’s undeniable that Marilyn has somewhat copied some metal and hard rock bands, like Alice Cooper and even Death SS!!

In the comments of Dfender85, I totally see myself! He basically said everything I think, and what can happen these days to a metalhead or to a simple guy who dresses normally! Wake up, don’t care about trends and all those assholes you see on TV with designer shirts and the latest haircuts! Those who seem like idols and legends to you are the worst scum in the world! And people still haven't realized it... after all the scandals that have happened and that we've seen in the news!! Everyone can listen to whatever music they like, have their own ideas, and dress how they want, but don’t bother the people who don’t think like you!! Great Defender85!!

But no! 19Lunghezze you can't say that Soundgarden and Pearl Jam are shit bands! Not even Nirvana! I don't think they would have ended up like Marilyn Manson..the proof is the glorious career of Dave Grohl in the Foo Fighters! Consistency and power! And sorry, but what are the Kefia??

I didn't hear the live show, but I know Tool very well... they are amazing! I think it's a beautiful live CD, considering the excellent setlist of songs they performed, ("Stinkfist", "Lateralus", "Sober", "Aenima"). Another band I really like is Kyuss, whose "Demon Cleaner" Tool often plays live. Two great bands!

Well, this album by Marilyn Manson just didn't convince me.. too catchy, commercial, and little inspiration from him. This change in style didn't excite me, maybe like Metallica, he has messed up his good career because of too much money! I really like his earlier works, up until "Holy Wood" or thereabouts, but now I find him a bit insignificant. Maybe it would have been better if he had continued to write some satanic pieces, like "Heart Shaped Glass" and "The Sky Was Blonde Like Her"!!

Great album by Nirvana, but it doesn't reach the heights of "Nevermind"! "Aneurysm" and "Been A Son" are standout tracks… I can't remember the others.

Great Defender85! I'm really curious to know what you're listening to... maybe some Italian metal bands or some NWOBHM bands?? Who knows, anyway keep it up and let's show that Italy isn't just the country of Pausini & Co. I believe that Italian bands deserve to be appreciated just for having the guts to make metal in a country like ours where, twenty years ago, most people didn't even know it existed!! Then, for me, bands like the ones Defender85 mentioned and the ones I mentioned are meant to be cranked up loud! But tastes are tastes, what can you do? If people think that Vanadium, Bulldozer & Co are derivative and that Steve Sylvester screams like a dog, that's their problem! Personally, I always prefer Steve's screaming over Dani's... maybe the only one who surpasses him is King Diamond!! IT'S ONLY HEAVY METAL, BUT I LIKE IT!!

Well... tastes are tastes. I like them! I know that England and America are musical planets away from Italy, but in the general metal scene, even our Italian bands have contributed a little bit! I really like Death SS... come on, you can't say that Steve Sylvester's screams are unbearable. I think that the best works of Vanadium and Strana can be compared to the beautiful works of Saxon, like "Rock The Nations" and "Power And The Glory," with all due respect for those albums. "Rock'N'Roll Prisoners," "Game Over," and "Born To Fight" are the greatest albums by Vanadium and Strana!

Oh yes, Jawbreaker! The Maiden live are a war machine... Motorhead and Mastodon absolutely crushed it!
