"There is a 'will to power' within Genesis, but also in other prog groups, which would like to express it and fail" --> I’ll tell you, with this negative characteristic you're referring to, the albums that come to mind are among the least successful; not all prog bands are excellent, there are good ones and there are less good ones, as in anything. For instance, A Passion Play by Jethro Tull or Works by ELP, just to stick with the more famous ones. But albums like "Pawn Hearts" by VDGG or "Sea Shanties" by High Tide, or many others, certainly have that power. If you think there’s no power in prog bands, you really know very few. Then you say that prog is shit and then you claim you love In The Court and Fripp?? I think you have a bit of a confused perspective, in my opinion.

Alright, if you want we can have that conversation on your review, where it should be done, and not here, where we are discussing something else. I’ll respond there, now let me understand why the hell he is so sure that all prog is crap.

It's as if I were to say using your comparison methods and your own examples: the powerful Fugazi, not Drake... what sense does that make??

What Coltrane said is certainly not a law. Fripp, probably the most important prog musician, said: "music for the mind, not for the body." This meant primarily a shift for a music genre, rock, that often conveyed only "rhythmic" feelings and not emotional or reflective ones. And for a decade, the audience certainly had that, then as always happens in human history, something changed, like a cycle; it's the Panta rei of Heraclitus. When you say "I see no difference between the mush of Pausini and Genesis," I can only tell you that I would lose the desire to respond to you. The other comparisons are nonsensical; you take the best of one artist and compare it to an artist with entirely different characteristics, as if you wanted to standardize everything... well...

Of course, I quote senmayan, if I had given a speech like that, it would have seemed like I was weaving an ode to prog :D

Worse, I don't like Sonic Youth but I still consider them a valuable band.
