A fair average for one of the most representative groups in today's musical landscape. The positive side is evident: things can only get better. If one is optimistic, hearing about the "rock side" can only bring a little smile :)

Sorry Melissa, but you say: "I don't have to write a comprehensive treatise on the history of psychedelia, but review an album." Well, the first part of the review is more suited for a treatise rather than a review, don't you think? And in a comprehensive treatise, that would have been more than appropriate, necessary even. Instead, inserting it into a review, which is also quite incomplete, conveys a cliché idea, and it kind of stretches things out, don’t you think? Anyway, all of this without any hard feelings, okay? It's just that you don't often see reviews on the 13th :)

No, MaxWeber, just because we were talking about hell, if you are meant to understand.

Filled with truth are the two posts from muitosaudosismo, the commodification of art that leads to a qualitative loss and the universality of Marley’s message, transcending every flag and political and religious barrier. And I quote Opel: "Sometimes they listen to pure garbage and don’t even realize it."—>Absolutely true, I encounter it daily (unfortunately!). There’s no denying it, reggae has to be taken with a grain of salt because the vast majority of what has been circulating for many years now is rubbish. This is evident in the tacky electronic gimmicks (globalization-->business), in the combination with other genres (and noise) that systematically end up nullifying that mystical effect that reggae should be infused with (reckless experimentation), in the distortion of the cult of Selassie, which leads to the extreme vulgarity, racism, and violence (the excess and spectacle derived from the negative stars-and-stripes model). In short, it’s easy to notice how reggae has devolved, and it's sad to discuss it.

"It would be fitting as background during the reading of the third canto of the Divine Comedy, at the moment when Dante crosses the infernal gate and hears the cries of the damned, who weep and moan for the pains caused by their torments, which will never cease. I recommend to those who do not know this wonderful song to listen to it." Instead, I recommend the Popol Vuh, but just like that...

Well, maybe conciseness is an art, but not always. An album like this, in my opinion, should have been approached differently. That's all.
