Pride of Lions The Roaring Of Dreams
Voto:
One of the few rock bands today that truly deserve it: really great.
Aerosmith Get Your Wings
Voto:
A 3.5 album, Aerosmith are like fine wine (and the opposite of 90% of bands): the older they get, the better they become. They were already killing it back then, but the following albums will be on another level. After 35 years, they still produce beautiful singles and albums. One last thing: in their very early works, Tyler's voice was nothing like what it is now... and this obviously has a strong impact on the final rating.
AC/DC For Those About To Rock (We Salute You)
Voto:
Yes, in fact, Mr. Tyler does it with full voice, my mistake, it's not falsetto. And this is even more surprising and gives the idea of the kind of singer he is, despite not having the lyrical technique of a Le Brie, God, Dickinson, Kiske.
Ian Gillian is one of the best when it comes to high notes and more, I don't doubt that...
AC/DC For Those About To Rock (We Salute You)
Voto:
Never said that David Coverdale doesn't hit high notes, on the contrary, he is one of the best, and along with him, there are many others who are incredibly talented. But guys, Steven Tyler has made it his trademark; the sound of Aerosmith revolves around his voice, his stretches that go well beyond the staff, and his devastating falsetto!
Muse Absolution
Voto:
An album that barely passes muster. The Muse know how to play, and here and there there are also some very nice tracks ("Time is running out"). But they seem a bit overrated to me: some people talk about them and define them as the Led Zeppelin of the 21st century, or as the new Who. Let’s not kid ourselves…
AC/DC For Those About To Rock (We Salute You)

Of course you can express your opinion, no question about it, but there’s a big difference between saying "I'm not a big fan of AC/DC, so for me none of their albums reaches a 5" and saying "they've never made a 5-star album." In the first statement, you express your personal view; in the second, you make an objective judgment...
"Since hard rock is by nature a derivative genre, with few possibilities for variations, innovations, and very little opportunity to showcase great technical and compositional abilities..." HAVE YOU EVER LISTENED TO MR. BIG?
David Bowie Rise And Fall of Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders from Mars
Voto:
Meh, come on, aren't you exaggerating a bit? .. if he said he didn't save the introduction in the other review!... then you might agree more or less...
Alice Cooper Billion Dollar Babies
Voto:
Alice is a living legend: and yes, there’s no doubt that scum like Marilyn Manson today tries to draw inspiration from him, but they just can’t pull it off...
AC/DC For Those About To Rock (We Salute You)

This album deserves a 4.5, too bad I can't rate it that way since you can only vote with whole numbers: in this case, being a band I admire greatly, I round it up to 5. HAVE AC/DC NEVER MADE A 5?!?.. Well, that speaks for itself... AC/DC can be considered the first true hard rock band and one of the best ever in this genre: they are a band that has set a standard worldwide and decisively influenced the 80s hard rock genre.
"If you like high notes, there are billions of bands with astonishing singers.. If you like high notes, listen to Buckley and Chris Cornell with early Soundgarden.. Or Myles Kennedy.. Or Coverdale.. Or Robert Plant.. You get the idea.. There are plenty of them.."
I don't know how it's possible, but almost always, the legendary STEVEN TYLER is not mentioned among the greatest singers of all time and THE BEST AT HIGH NOTES... Oh man, those are some serious high notes that blow your mind!.. Also, check out STEELHEART, featuring the MONSTROUS MICHAEL MATIJEVIC ON VOCALS!..
