Not their peak, but I'll give them a 3.5. And as always, there are those who take shots at a historic and beautiful band, undoubtedly one of the best hair-rock/hard-rock groups...

Here's why I like Debaser... "You stink," the single that has DIGGED the charts!!..:DDDDDDD
Iron Maiden Fear Of The Dark

In my opinion, it's a 4 out of 10 album, probably not on par with any release from the "golden era" (from "Iron Maiden" to "SSOASS"), but still a very good piece of work. I think it's the best in the last 18 years along with "Dance of Death" and "Brave New World." And yes, the title track alone makes the album worth listening to...

I don't agree with this, as Azzo has already pointed out, about the points "the bassist along with the Subsonica's sellout," or the overly used connection between commercial = poor quality. Commercial means that it sells a lot: today it has taken on another meaning, when people say "that band is commercial," they mean "that band is cheesy" or "that band makes shitty pop"; it has a derogatory connotation. But the Beatles, with over 1,000,000,000 copies sold worldwide, are the most commercial band in history... they're not cheesy or garbage pop artists, right? Let's clarify a few things. That said, I can only partly agree that Italian rock lacks substance, but ROCK has never been "our thing." In Italy, it has never been a highly "imported" product: until the '80s, we always had light music, singer-songwriters (Baglioni, Battisti, Celentano, Mina, Paoli, Morandi...). In the '60s and '70s, in England, there were the Beatles, Rolling Stones, Pink Floyd, Queen, Led Zeppelin, Deep Purple. In Italy, the first real ROCKERS (i.e., those who did something that could be defined as ROCK) appeared in the late '70s and the '80s. Now, for the past 10 years, metal and rock bands have been popping up like mushrooms (especially in the south, in my town, Sannicandro Garganico, I can tell you that rock and metal rule supreme), but what kind of bands are they? They are cover bands that play in pubs and bars, churning out a few original songs and "affiliating" with small labels (sometimes even created by themselves!). Among the bands that gain some fame (like these Verdena), there are few that can make truly great rock, with a sound that is objectively nice, and even fewer that have an innovative sound (and you can count these on one hand). Tastes are tastes; some like them, some don't, and I confess that these Verdena excite me very little, if at all.
Megadeth United Abominations

I'm not someone who follows Megadeth, I'm not a "metalhead," I'm more oriented towards rock and hard rock, but I listened to this and I liked it quite a bit.. I checked out some of the old albums, and this is indeed 1-2 steps down from the "older" works, and at least 1 step below the excellent "The System Has Failed," but it's still a very well-crafted work, nothing to say. I would rate it between 3.5 (the MINIMUM score that can be given to such an album) and 4 (which I think is fair).
