"...all the crap from across the ocean like the Motley Crue, Aerosmith, and the aforementioned Guns N' Roses..." O_O just for this sentence I should give you a 1 in the review.. I've never heard of them, but with Iron he did something good, despite everything; definitely better than his subsequent solo DCs.

I've always wondered why they included "songs" like The Warriors Prayer... especially in a collection!
Anyway, I agree on everything: flamboyant, excessive, pompous, full of themselves, but they've always managed to place something really good in every CD... nice review, a 3 for the album, because it's scandalous that "Carry On" is missing ;)

I saw them live last year and I must say they are exceptional; I haven't heard the album but if it’s well-produced to faithfully reproduce their sound it must be great too. However, I wouldn't say they do not completely engage the audience: just Mikael with his cabaret-style that emerges during the breaks is worth the ticket price :D. The others were indeed a bit detached... technically there’s nothing to say: exceptional!

Excuse my ignorance, but isn't "Am I Evil?" actually found on "Lightning to the Nations?"
Nice review, I've never heard the CD, I only know "Lightning.." indeed.

the premise is beautiful :D
the album isn't bad, even though I prefer the originals (and here "Promise HER the Moon" became "Promise HIM the Moon", but whatever...)

I had said I would comment again after seeing the concert, but reading this has made me lose my enthusiasm.. anyway, would anyone get mad if I say I preferred Symphony X to DT? (even though the acoustics at the Forum were terrible as usual..)
