Nice review; I listened to them thanks to... actually, BECAUSE of a university classmate of mine, truly awful, but I won't vote :D

Seen live, it’s embarrassing: he’s so misshapen that he now looks like Platinette... then the voice (every now and then he would even throw in a growl... who knows); anyway, after the Maiden he has never returned to certain levels: I heard something from Killers and Battlezone and I’m still regretting it, I don’t know how this one is, except for the horrible cover by Megadeth. Incredible that in the DVD he talks about his career with the Iron, given that lately he doesn’t miss an opportunity to throw s*** on them, calling them sellouts, traitors, etc... (only to tour around with their tribute bands, but that’s nothing, right?)

And after the Russian heavy metal, the Arab thrash! :D
Maybe I should overcome my reluctance towards music from remote/unthinkable places and try to find something, especially since I really like '80s American thrash! :)

Russian female heavy metal... and I must say it’s played well too! Well, at least these aren’t "daddy's girls" like a certain Lauren Harris, so :)

Am I being too picky if I point out that: "...with Paul Bostaph they set blazing rhythms..." and: "When we get to 'As Good As Dead' the band never ceases to amaze..." can’t really be read or seen?!? Anyway, great album.

Great album, perhaps the one where (even more than "Pyromania") you can feel the shift from the raw hard rock of the early works to the subsequent more melodic and "refined" hard rock. From "Animal" to "Armageddon It," each song is more beautiful than the last ;)

Beautiful and unsettling at the same time, from the characterization of the characters to the gray and sad atmospheres of the real world, all the way to the bright colors of the world "on the other side of the door." I agree that it shouldn't be considered a film for very young audiences; the scenes with the "real-fake mother" are truly disturbing :)

I should start by saying that I don't know much about Soundgarden, aside from "Black Hole Sun" and 2-3 other songs... I really liked the first Audioslave album, liked the second much less, and I haven't even heard the third; as for Cornell's solo work, I only know the singles that have made it to the radio... that said, it's likely that the good Chris has realized that with this new path he not only hasn't gained new admirers but has also lost most of his long-time fans (who I believe were already somewhat skeptical of the "pop" turn in his previous solo works, and with this "Scream," I would say their respect and admiration have completely vanished; I personally see him as a ridiculous caricature of himself and the "stars" from MTV, dressed in absurd fur and surrounded by half-naked women, arm-in-arm with his buddy Timbaland...); a Soundgarden reunion seems to me like scraping the bottom of the barrel in an attempt to regain a dignity that is now almost entirely lost, and I think it will end up tarnishing the good name of a historic band (and by the way, I absolutely need to know more about them, I've always promised myself to do so but then nothing; I don't like grunge, but they and Alice in Chains are the only two bands whose music I willingly listen to... well, digression xD). Fortunately, I don't know the work in question, other than "Long Gone" (nice enough, but if you say it was made more "rock" for the single, I can't imagine how the original on the album sounds) and "Part of Me," horrible, which alone is worth my 1.
