Draconian A Rose For The Apocalypse

I would also add (early) Katatonia, obviously with more gothic twists. Among these, at first I really liked "Arcane Rain Fell", but then it quickly lost much of its magic and aged rather poorly. I don't think I will listen to their latest album, especially after reading "the formula is always the same of the genre"... At most, I will give it a listen on YouTube.

I didn't mind it at all. Of course, listening to it in one go is a bit tough, and I'm certainly not the type who spreads power/prog on their toast in the morning; yet there are those standout tracks that got stuck in my head from the very first listen. And yes, he really does have a great voice.

Very, very carefully, I would say. :D

When I first heard it, I was taken aback. And to think that I was drawn in by some criticisms, like "hipster crap" (?!). It's true that today’s black metal fans (but also those from yesterday and the day before) are just absurd... Now, all you have to do is write black metal that doesn’t sound true grim and frostbitten (see Alcest), without dressing up in studs and panda-painting, and ta-dah!, congratulations, you’ve officially become a crappy "hipster" (?!?).

But they are still not in the magical DeDatabase! Umpf...

I respect "Rust.." and a couple of other things they've done, but these guys really get on my nerves, a bit like their cousin idiots Hetfield & co. In short, it's a tough battle. I remember the album being quite mediocre, though not as bad as the terrible "Risk."

(Anyway, the title is "Roads To Judah"!)

Indeed, dear Declino, I’ve tried many times to jot down a few lines, but I really didn’t know what to write... Our Spider, however, did a great job in highlighting the album (so I can also include it in the rankings!), which is truly a wonder for me. 4.5

(Susu, come on, comment, the album is really worth it and the review is beautiful and cool!)

I'm listening to it right now, I still have to decide whether I really like it or if it's driving me crazy, in any case, it seems like a great record.
