Given that Dead Can Dance are among my all-time favorites; given that I consider "Within The Realm Of A Dying Sun" a five-star overflowing masterpiece and then some; given that I adore "The Serpent's Egg," "Into The Labyrinth," and the debut; having said all this, this album has never really captured me. I find it a bit heavy—nice, sure, but it's the one I listen to the least in the Dead's discography (and most of the time not even in full). I don't know, tastes...? Or maybe I still need to "get" it (even though I haven’t listened to it a few times)? In any case, far from being a bad album, and still superior to that half-baked "Spiritchaser." 3.5
