Thank you all again for the comments. @PVC: some say it's nice, others say the opposite. I don't know, I'll listen to it and then I'll share my opinion.

I detest beginnings that start with "I write because I have nothing else to do"; aside from that, the review doesn't seem to be set up badly, you just could have said a bit more, perhaps specifying better what you didn't like about the album.. Because as it stands, you're being too general. Anyway, welcome. I've never liked Korn so I won't vote for them.

Very beautiful as usual, but by now there's no need for me to tell you, you already know XD I only have "A Sense of Change" from Sieges and I must say I really liked it; at this point, I’ll get this "Life Cycle" as well :p

Damn ADSL. I'm only responding now... @katharsys: there's nothing depressive here, at most it's unsettling. Anyway, the expression "mastodontic cohesion" doesn't seem so incomprehensible to me, especially since I think I've written much more horrifying things (review on darkspace). Could you point out the other misplaced passages? Maybe next time I'll tone it down, if necessary. @PVC: nooooo!! My heart sank when I saw that 3 for the album XDXD I've listened to "Heresy" (which I'll probably review) but… I don't know why, it didn't hit me as much as this "Carbon/Core" or "Purifying Fire," which I think develop the techniques abundantly without straying from the overall style. @defender: I haven't heard anything from Catena yet, but I've been told he has released a ton of albums - in 2001, I believe he churned out 4 albums O_O

@Fra: one step at a time; also because jumping straight into Lustmord is quite traumatic. Trust me, I’ve been there and had to get an IV to cope with the harsh blow XD. @blech: no worries, I’m human! Behind these reviews lies the most fickle and contradictory being on the planet :) Anyway, if you want to start with ambient, I recommend beginning with the less dark and more "generic" sounds. For example, try Northaunt, specifically "Horizons" (which I reviewed); it's quite melancholic but certainly not depressing. Or you might also check out Desiderii Marginis, but only the album "Seven Sorrows," because the other CDs are much darker and gloomier. Keep in mind a couple of things: ambient (especially the dark kind) is definitely not something you hum in the car or with friends, nor is it a genre you can just put on to brighten your day. You have to be "open" and willing to absorb it; otherwise, after just 4 minutes, you'll turn it all off and move on to something else. Then it depends on your mood and the situations. If you're feeling upbeat, the sun is shining, and the world is smiling at you, then don’t even consider it. But if it’s gently raining outside, you’re alone, and you want to dive into something damn atmospheric (but far from easy), then it’s worth a shot :)

I still have to listen to that "Pigs of the Roman Empire" that I've had on my waiting list for five months!
