The Opeth album that I found the hardest to digest. Despite being raw and massive (all tracks 10-14 minutes long, excluding the brief interludes, that's no small feat), it has a truly remarkable richness of content that almost makes your mouth water. It may also objectively be a 3-4 album (due to its somewhat meandering structure and the typical Opethian wordiness that really makes its weight felt here), but now that I've fully assimilated it, I can't help but love it to bits. 4.5
Dimmu Borgir In Sorte Diaboli
Voto:
"Since when have the dimmu entered the mainstream?" Since they started inflating themselves with redundant orchestras and since they began clowning around, flaunting the typical blackster image. In short, since they stopped being what they were in the '90s. "Come on, don't talk nonsense!" So explain it to me. Ciau

Hi ale. No, for various reasons I won't return to hp. The site is, however, packed with people who know how to write - if you're looking for someone to recommend new artists in the metal scene and similar genres, that's a different story, and I think it might be better for you to rely on someone else; otherwise, we can always exchange opinions and advice privately! :))) bye
Symphony X The Divine Wings of Tragedy
Voto:
<<Epicness, melody, symphony, technique, power>> .. practically the usual highly stylized things you can find in any trashy power metal. And then woooooooooow there's even melody in this album?? Then it's way ahead.

My Dying Bride For Lies I Sire
Voto:
Hi! Thanks for stopping by. But you know what? I'm realizing as I listen more that this album is way too sugary. It's stylized. Impotent. My Dying Bride have always managed to be somehow cryptic, at least intriguing. I gave 3 stars to FLIS just because it's them. If I had to summarize what I feel NOW about this record, I'd put it like this: "Look, now I'm cutting myself, this violin is like a blade that severs my veins. Now I'll read you some Shakespeare. Pain. Suffering. My ex-girlfriend. Religion. Again, the violins like blades. Drops of crimson blood like the wine of the Holy Grail. Your ex-girlfriend. Pain. Suffering. Violins. Shakespeare. Latin quotes, look how profound I am. Bleeding love. She does this, she does that, she looks there then up and down. Very dark eyes. Dark forest. Now look, I'm pissed off!! Speed. I'm angry!! WAAAAAAH!! .. Ok, now I'm sad again. Depression. Broken passions. Violins. Pain. Goodbye." ... It only took me a couple of months of listening to bring my interest in the album from 10 to 1. With the bands you care about most, it's always like this: a new work comes out, you listen to it, you notice it's a bit cringy but it doesn't seem real, so you listen to it and re-listen to it every day, you force yourself to like it, you even listen to it when you go to the bathroom, you reach a point where it finally seems like you like it and then... absolute void. Oh well. It's a matter of expectations.
