In the end, last night I finally decided to listen to this too... Or rather, I tried, but by the fifth track I got bored. I agree with casamorta.

I don't care about Cagata Arctica, they neither excite me nor bore me; I listened to them 4-5 years ago and then they can go to hell. I don't feel like reading the review...

There you go, the DDs on debaser. I've listened to "Dismantled Devotion," but it didn't really excite me... Yes, okay, well-produced doom/death, excellently played, etc., but it lacks something; for me, it doesn't go beyond a 3.5. I partially agree with Ale regarding the resemblance to BMD, although in my opinion, except for some harsh and biting melody choices that seem to intentionally mimic the masterpiece by Kata, it's not very relevant, especially considering that in "Dismantled.." (and, apparently, also in the album under review) the sounds are generally 100 times more inflated/pretentious and the tracks are more intricate, shifting, dynamic, baroque if you will, and for this reason far from both the scraping, minimalist sound and the suffocating obsessiveness of "BraveMD." In short: good job, but...

For me, ambient music (in its various forms) has been a relatively recent discovery, let’s say about 3 to 4 years max, and it's a genre that, if dosed correctly, has never tired me. I never go on a spree hunting for dozens of artists/albums in a row, especially since being a rather compact and impenetrable genre, it wouldn't make sense to overload myself with so much music (it would be nauseating!). Instead, like a Shark, I prefer to savor a few good things during the most suitable and "particular" moments (autumn-winter being the most indicated seasons, summer is unthinkable!). It's also true that it’s very easy to stumble upon absolute rubbish in the ambient realm, the kind that can knock you out with boredom after just 3 minutes... But in this type of music, the line between masterpiece and crap is often thin... Anyway, I confirm the review's judgment, "cryogenic" album :))

I just arrived at "Ice Whispers"... Really remarkable, I’m going crazy for this genre... I’ll come back to cast my vote :)

Very beautiful as always, great album and the Brazilian is really good (though I haven't listened to the album in a while, I'll refresh my memory).

It took me a while to like it... I admit I was quite spoiled from indulging in the doom of My Dying Bride and early Anathema, which, while remaining in the same realm, are fundamentally different bands. Perhaps that's partly why this album seemed bland and uninspiring during my first listens, and even beyond: Draconian is "dirtier" and more straightforward, but that doesn't make it any less piercing than an album by MDB or Anathema... It simply has a different approach. It's very likely that those who have initially feasted on MDB might remain indifferent when listening to Draconian. Anyway, thank goodness all those countless listening sessions served a purpose, so I can now assign my 5 :))
