Ppletti Ombre Rosse is a Western, and also a Road Movie, damn if it’s not a road movie!! As for neorealist films, if they had had stars as main actors, they would have been crap. For instance: "Ladri di biciclette" was offered to De Sica to give the role of Maggiorani to Gary Cooper. Obviously, De Sica refused, creating the masterpiece that came out of it. Now I’m going out for an hour, but when I return, I’ll come to see; I’m interested in the topic.

For me, the first real road movie is Stagecoach, what do you think? If it doesn't draw inspiration from Whitman, which one does? The Easy Life is not a road movie, even though the road is a fundamental element of the film. It's a false comedy that hides a true drama.
