In my opinion, the concept of the Greek theater and the title, which in English is an explicit reference to Greek mythology, create the ironic dichotomy that Allen is a master at crafting between the grandeur of love as a sentiment – since it is, after all, a rather unconventional love story – and the vulgarity of sex embodied in the profession and immense carnality of the female protagonist (Mira Sorvino...). An austere touch that is underscored by the choruses of the Greek theater, while vulgarity thrives on the double entendres and blatantly crude phrases. In my humble opinion, just for this, the film deserves a solid 4... I disagree with your judgment, but it seems to me a good review.
