@ cooloras: yes, and frankly it surprised me a bit too...

I remember that I loved "Doll-Digga-Buzz-Buzz-Ziggety-Zag" from this album, I'm not sure if it's spelled that way. In my opinion, overall one of their best.

Heard it for the first time yesterday, I'm on my fourth or fifth listen. For me, it's a great album, and I've never been a big fan of "exalted-Bellamy" and company. Exogenesis left me speechless, masterful. And finally, Matt seems to sing with his heart too ("Resistance," "USOE"). "Undisclosed Desires" sounds like a Depeche Mode track produced by Timbaland, "Unnatural Selection" finally delivers a great riff. I don’t agree with good old Starblazer on one thing: this album will sell MORE than the previous one, trust me! If they drop "Undisclosed Desires" as a single in the USA, they will have a lot of fun...

Full review. For now, I've only heard Uprising and United States, so I'll refrain from judging the album.

I saw Beetlebum on YouTube, and it brought tears to my eyes. It's one of the very few reformed bands for which a new album would make sense; Coxon would like to do it, while Albarn doesn't seem convinced (and the new Gorillaz is on the way).

The reason for the departure of the older Gallagher (not the breakup, because, at least for now, they aren't officially split up but are down to four) is due to the fact that Liam showed up at the concert in Paris nearly completely drunk, driving Noel mad. From there, a fight broke out and the latter decided he couldn't take it anymore. Before going on vacation, Noel issued a statement outlining the reasons in broad terms. From that point on, as far as I'm concerned, they might as well go on vacation; the damage is already done (I'm sympathetic to those who were supposed to see them in Milan and got screwed over; it's truly shameful how they've behaved). And this time I don't think Noel will come back; he's been wanting to launch a solo career for years. The nonsense about the dressing room choices mentioned on Studio Aperto and similar shows can be disregarded. As for Liam, he has decent success with his fashion line, Pretty Green, and I think he'll continue down that path.

A review that's much nicer than mine, well done. I agree about closing the circle, but I sincerely hope they don't stop here. Manics forever.

Ah, Temi, do you happen to know which sessions All We Want comes from? I'm curious that the producer of the track is still Stephen Street...

Since I wrote my review, I have to make a mea culpa: it's incredible, I have heavily reassessed this album after ten years. The best for me will always be the eponymous one, but 13 is truly a gem. With a few exceptions (Tender, Bugman, Coffee And TV, BLUREMI, Trimm Trabb, No Distance), the rest, as the reviewer rightly says, needs to be digested calmly. Trimm Trabb as the first single, Tender demoted to b-side, and All We Want in the tracklist, and everything would have been perfect…

I love Coxon as a solo artist; his weakest work is perhaps the subsequent "Love Travels At Illegal Speeds." This one, on the other hand, I've been listening to again these days, and it's truly a great album. No Good Time is perhaps his best solo track.
