Beady Eye Different Gear, Still Speeding
Voto:
Good morning everyone. Thank you for the warm welcome, you’re all so sweet. :) Let’s get to it. When it comes to artists in general, particularly musicians, I find it fair to divide them into two categories: those who innovate, who experiment and try to introduce something new in the musical field, and those who prefer to play what they love, completely ignoring the need to revolutionize the scene, partly because they aren’t suited for it, partly because they recognize their own limits. Liam Gallagher falls into the second category. That said, I absolutely agree with Mr. Popolo (whom I warmly thank for the 5-star rating) regarding The Roller, which I find to be the worst track on the album not so much for "melodic demerits" but for the blatant plagiarism against good old John. I believe that if one starts with the assumption of seeking something new in these Beady Eye, one is off on the wrong foot. However, what they do, they do well. It’s a well-structured, well-played, and honest album, with many good ideas, even though it lacks the spark of a true genius. Mind you, I didn’t give it four stars...

The greatest director in the world right now. And I can't wait for Inception to come out.
Gorillaz Plastic Beach

The best album by Gorillaz, on par with Demon Days, which for me is still their best so far. But I'm only on my third listen, and I believe this little record is destined to grow quite a bit over time. The lack of standout singles only benefits this album, and anyway, Superfast Jellyfish is truly irresistible. That I absolutely adore Gruff Rhys is another story...

I almost forgot: the Italian dubbing further undermines the series, even though RoboCop is voiced by a true professional like Luca Ward. Translating the key phrase "come quietly or there will be trouble" (the one spoken by RoboCop in the original film before the shootout in the drug factory, and translated by the legendary Alessandro Rossi as "seguitemi tranquilli o avrete... problemi") differently each time shows a complete disregard for the original film. Long live Italy!

@Lostinspace: the Italian title of the pilot is "A computer against the city." Anyway, despite the original writers, it's certainly not the best episode of the series. I find "A companion from the past" and "Live suicide" to be better.

Since 1994, as far as I know, it has only been partially replicated in 2001 on Italia 1, then about a year and a half ago on Steel, and right now they are airing it again on Steel.

@ Fredrick: well, I certainly didn't shout masterpiece. Let's just say that, as a big fan of the franchise, I expected a lot more even when I was ten years old. :)

@ Tobby: unfortunately, I'm not a fantasist, but an honest central defender! In every sense! :D

Hi Gallagher. Listening to the new tracks played live (take a look on YouTube, you can find them all), the approach of the new album should be very hard, but not a return to the roots. They sound different compared to a Tangerine or a Stereo World, just to be clear.
