@ G.G.Junior: if I listen to Everlong without thinking that it was written by an ex-Nirvana, I just think it’s a great piece. And same goes for My Hero, Monkey Wrench, Walking After You, Let It Die, This Is A Call, No Way Back, I'll Stick Around, Big Me, Friend Of A Friend. I don’t understand what the background of the songwriter has to do with it. Whether it was written by Elvis’s secret son or Ian Curtis under a pseudonym. Sorry for the irony, but I don’t understand your argument. Besides, even if he were recommended, if he wrote terrible songs, rest assured he would quickly disappear into anonymity (look at Chris Cornell's solo attempts, each one a bigger commercial flop than the last). I believe the name alone isn’t enough, not even in today’s corrupt music industry.

@FordPrefect: I am a big admirer of Blur's work post-Great Escape, even though I’m convinced that many of you, knowing my passion for 90s britpop, think I lean towards their earlier albums. And precisely because I have listened to Albarn's more "experimental" records multiple times and with greater attention, I feel compelled to say that "Think Tank" gives me a sense of greater completeness compared to 13 which, although it is a good album, sometimes gives the impression of trying to be a vehicle for frantic experimentation at all costs (especially in the middle part of the album). In short, I prefer a "thoughtful" Ambulance to a "messy" Caramel.

@Tomgil: listen to the second Gorillaz album, Demon Days, for me it's an outstanding record, and the latest project The Good, The Bad And The Queen with Simonon, Tony Allen, and Simon Tong. For me, the best Blur album remains the eponymous one, where there's everything: experimentation (Essex Dogs, Strange News), solid guitar work (Song 2, Chinese Bombs), beautiful melodies (Look Inside America), my beloved britpop (Beetlebum), and the incredible Pavement (Country Sad Ballad Man). Amazing.

@DESADE: so you missed the best parts. @Starblazer: saying this album is britpop is like saying The Dark Side Of The Moon is doom metal. The only thing close to britpop in here is Coffee & Tv. @Alessio: I imagined you’d like it, didn’t I? Hehe.

You're right, I misread, 47. It's the result of coming back at 4 in the morning and getting up at 6:50 (after a pretty loud concert like the 1990s one)...

Ale, come on, I'm not going to lynch you, but this time you've really messed up. No way the Backshit Boyz can be compared to the Clash. Sure, they might not be for everyone; I personally can't stand Pink Floyd, but I acknowledge they were (are) giants. Now, we can debate, and it's fair to do so, but don't belittle them like that. And you know how much I admire you. Oh, and I also much prefer the roast, anyway... :D

I listened to it all. Usually, I find it a taken-for-granted statement, but this time I'll say it: they sold out. Tiziano Ferro? Bah. The last decent album is Numb.

Yes, of course, Freddie Mercury was crap. Well, if he was crap, explain to me what Alex Britti is... Alessio is right. This revisionism at all costs is really starting to get on my nerves. As for Mika, he is a pop artist. Period. If you like pop, great; otherwise, it's best to stay away from it.
