Buckland were eager to perform within the churches of Barcelona to find the right inspiration and the perfect blend created by the relationship between environment and sound production. The recording sessions are still taking place in a new studio, different from those previously used for the three albums already released. In fact, Coldplay insisted on having a small room - for rehearsal sessions - with a capacity sufficient to accommodate only the four musicians. Initially, some online and e-commerce sales channels (such as amazon.com and HMV) bravely announced that pre-sales of the album would begin on September 3, 2007, and that it would be available starting September 6, 2007. Unfortunately, the official site Coldplay.com quickly rushed to deny these possibilities, confessing that the work was far from reaching a positive conclusion.

COLDPLAY: Some rumors from a spokesperson for EMI Argentina suggest that the album could be accompanied by a DVD containing footage and images from the South American Leg of the Twisted Logic Tour (reportedly available only in Latin American countries). The album will feature 9 tracks, although the four promise that it will be 'yes short, but intense.' The titles of 8 of the probable songs on the album have been published on the official site Coldplay.com:
Lost! - Cemeteries of London - Violet Hill - Poppy Fields - 42 - Yes! - LeftRightLeftRightLeft - Rainy Day
The title of the album, however, remains a mystery, although some hypotheses have been speculated: Prospekt, named after the enigmatic character signing the latest events within the band (though this hypothesis was officially denied on the band's website on January 30, 2008); A New Finding, which appeared out of nowhere on Wikipedia but was then deleted; 42, which some believe to be the most credible, as Chris and his bandmates have admitted that the album will last 42 minutes overall and should likely contain a track titled 42 (as mentioned before).
At first, it was thought that the fourth album by Coldplay was actually a collection of all those pieces rejected from X&Y, and proposed, along with the bonus track 'How You See The World,' for a sort of "mirror publishing." Incredibly, some titles circulated: Blasphemy, Deja Vù, Echo My Name (I Can't Believe You're Gone), Fury, and Something Ain't Right. According to Guy Berryman, the intended title was (or perhaps still is) made up of five letters.
Additionally, Coldplay has recently confessed multiple times that they have written four new songs: Mining On The Moon, The Fall Of Man, The Butterfly, and Bucket For A Crown (performed at the Mencap Little Noise Session, held at the Union Chapel in London).
The band is currently collaborating with two top-notch producers: the first is Brian Eno, the historical "developer" of some U2 albums and a previous collaborator with Coldplay in using synthesizers and samples for some tracks in their official discography; the second is Timbaland, who has a remarkable experience in the field and has already assisted numerous high-profile artists in the international pop scene. To be precise, the duo has been joined by the assistance of another great 'sound engineer' like Markus Dravs, who has worked with figures such as Bjork and Depeche Mode. Thanks to the addition of such personalities, the group has revealed its intention to give a shift to their career by adopting a slightly different new style than what has been expressed so far. Since then, the successor to X&Y has been referred to as an 'experimental album,' even after the words of Danny McNamara, leader of Embrace, who admitted that Chris played me some new tracks in secret and I was blown away. They are very experimental and much more out of the ordinary than one might imagine. They take your breath away... There are quite a few strong guitar riffs but full of feeling, and also exciting moments. Chris played a song to me alone, on the piano, and I simply thought: Wow!'... Whatever your expectations regarding Coldplay's music, throw them out the window!. In any case, the band has defined itself confident in its work, so much so that they humorously admitted they want to release the most beautiful album of the last 40 years with a song 'that everyone must listen to at least once before they die.'
The sound we should find when listening to the new album is definitely influenced by the atmosphere and the patchwork of images and sensations of the Latin world, visited by Coldplay recently for their tour. Furthermore, great importance will be given to the acoustic nature of the songs, as Berryman, Champion, and Buckland have strongly wanted to play within the churches of Barcelona to find the right inspiration and the exact mix given by the relationship between the environment and sound production.

@ Proctologist: idiot, the review isn't mine. Given your IQ, you must be colossalyouth under a false identity. So coward, besides being a disgusting anonymous. What's the matter, after the series of embarrassing blunders you've made, you won't show your face? Coward.

@Melissa: Blur is the essential album. Before that, it's simple britpop; after that, it's absolute experimentation (especially "13"). You do you, but you'd better start with the eponymous one. Bye.

@ Melissa: the best of Blur gives you an idea of who they are for about thirty to forty percent.

@ voiceface: there are groups whose b-sides are more beautiful and interesting than the "main" tracks, precisely because, being lesser-known pieces, there’s more willingness to experiment and originality. For example, I would gladly give "Sci-fi Lullabies" by Suede a nice four stars.

His solo career has always intrigued me; unfortunately, I've never had the chance to hear anything. I'll start with this.
