@ let there be rock: he has always criticized them mostly for certain attitudes of Yorke deemed hypocritical, an opinion also shared by other "colleagues," it's just that Gallagher has a habit of being very, um, "direct" in his statements. He’s the "little brother" who attacks them on an artistic level, but knowing his limited musical culture (he listens to the Beatles, the Beatles, and maybe even the Beatles) there’s not much to take seriously. That said, I met Liam at the Bebop in Florence and he's a polite, nice, and super kind person (I know you won’t believe me, whatever), while Noel is painted as an authentic piece of dirt.

@ psychopompe: let me explain my point of view; I don't know what others think. The first one is clearly a beautiful film, innovative for its time, well shot, with some memorable scenes (the one mentioned by Hetzer for example, which is also referenced in the second), but compared to the sequel, it is somewhat lacking in plot and has fewer "nuances," making it a bit too focused on the "escape" factor while avoiding the development of themes that the second one explores more deeply (the coexistence of man and machine, the sense of hope, etc., even though I admit that it often reaches notable heights of rhetoric). Clearly, personal tastes vary.

I agree with tomgil, except for one thing: X & y, pop or not, is an extremely underrated album. Fix You, White Shadows, 'Til Kingdom Come are my favorites.
