I read that the first director chosen for Begins was Aronofsky, so in case Nolan lets go, he would be there. But he signed on to direct the Robocop reboot, so I see it as unlikely.

@ GIUBBO: in Batman Begins there is a discussion where Bruce asks Alfred how he should behave to avoid raising suspicions about his double identity, and the butler replies that he should exaggerate with the typical "rich guy" attitudes. This explains Wayne's behavior. Also, you're absolutely right about the duration: the full version of the film runs nearly three hours, and it seems that several scenes were cut. It's likely they will be included in the future DVD.

For me, the two Jokers (Nicholson/Ledger) are not even remotely comparable (surreal and cartoonish the first, classic psychopathic thriller type the second) but they are both effective. For personal taste, I prefer the version of the late Ledger. Moreover, Nicholson, before Heath's death, heavily criticized the Australian's interpretation. Did he feel threatened?

I really liked the reception. The movie is excellent: Bale confirms his talent, Eckart is surprising, Gyllenhaal is 100 times better than Holmes (though that was an easy feat), and Ledger brings tears to the eyes. Too bad about the very limited presence of Cillian "Scarecrow" Murphy, in my opinion the most promising actor among the many young faces that have emerged in recent years.

Corvino, thinking like a businessman, had already sold him (rightly so), but Pranda got angry and blocked everything. If it were up to me, I would shoulder him to Rome for twenty million (you’re a Romanista, right?), and for the same money, I would also shoulder to get Arshavin. Mutu is an arrogant, presumptuous, and overrated player; he scored all those goals because Pazzini (I don't know for what absurd reason) sacrificed himself for him, taking on personal insults he absolutely didn’t deserve (try scoring twenty goals while running like a madman for ninety minutes). I hope that Osvaldo (now that’s a real talent, with the feet, speed, and technique of a champion) plays three times as much next year. Cheers.
