I'm from Florence, but I've never watched Pieraccioni with interest. The only thing that makes me laugh is "Il Ciclone" (because I'm from Florence, not because it's an example of high cinema, you know!). "I Laureati" is actually bad.

Well, I think this way, let’s see if we agree: some albums (e.g. Monster) are essentially rock, others (e.g. Out Of Time, Around The Sun) definitely pop, and others still (more or less everything else) as you say, rock infused with pop.

Jim Morrison, what I've tried to highlight in the review is precisely the difference between POP with a capital P and the fucking chart pop. You can't (even if you don't like them) put Travis on the same level as 883; Travis made it to the charts because they're good, not because they wanted to go there. If you hate pop, potentially Travis are among the few who can convince you otherwise. You said it yourself, tastes are tastes...
