I have all of Coxon's albums, he's one of my favorite songwriters. He also started "experimenting" (listen to "The Kiss Of Morning," it's fabulous), but the last two albums ("Happiness In Magazines" - which I've also reviewed - and "Love Travels At Illegal Speeds") have brought him back to more "down-to-earth" territories (the last one even takes a definite turn towards pop-punk). That's why I'm telling you that Cox seems to have little desire to experiment...

Boyintheocean, you might find it curious that Albarn is insisting heavily on the button "Either Coxon comes back, or nothing will come of the new album." In my opinion, Coxon has set the condition to return to sounds that are perhaps not pre-Blur (the self-titled album from '97), but certainly pre-"13." That's why I believe the new album will never happen, or at least not with Coxon.

Oh, is it a cover of Faith Hill? That's why, compared to Pausini, it doesn't look out of place... not even a piece by Gigi d'Agostino would look out of place... but it is what it is...

nO bLACKdOg, I don’t mean to say they are the most beautiful. By more representative, I meant more well-known. Of the ones I listed, I only like one...

Well, theknife is an album practically devoid of singles to send to radio ("K. O. D." and "Herculean" are certainly not for heavy rotation), so the lower success compared to Gorillaz is normal, as they are muuuch more commercial. Besides, it made it to the top ten in both Italy and England, if I’m not mistaken (I don't even count America anymore, because apart from Snow Patrol, Coldplay, and a few others, they hardly pay attention to British music at all). Furthermore, the critical success (even if it matters very little) has been almost unanimous.

Well, if you approach the album with the right attention, in my opinion after 2-3 listens it really starts to get under your skin. Obviously, the times of Parklife (for better or worse, depending on your point of view) are behind us. Certainly, in a musical landscape where many are regressing, Albarn is one of those who continues to grow.

Cocchiola, it’s not that the other albums by Albarn from "13" onwards are masterpieces of vitality... and calling it a calculated operation seems really excessive; you could say that about Christina Aguilera or Hilary Duff, but not about Albarn...

So, let me correct myself for the sake of accuracy. Here are the most representative films of Liam Neeson: Schindler's List, Les Misérables, Star Wars Episode 1/The Phantom Menace, Gangs Of New York, Batman Begins, The Chronicles Of Narnia. Regards.
