The White Stripes Icky Thump

For me, for now, it’s among the top three singles of the year.

I wrote it exactly for that reason, Nofake. I didn't agree with the other reviews. Divergent viewpoints are always healthy!

I noticed, kosmogabri, that whenever the Stripes are attacked, 99 times out of 100 it's for excessive citationism, or anyway for an excessive "retro taste." The problem is that I don't see anything wrong with it, and I find them a kickass duo (both on record and live, with a classic like "7 Nation Army" (because it's definitely a classic by now) and so many great tracks (I'm thinking of "Fell In Love With A Girl," "Black Math," "The Denial Twist," in my opinion above all). I don't understand this hatred, but it is what it is...

I've already reviewed the Fray, but if you haven't read it and don’t know what I think, I’ll summarize it for you; they’re flat, predictable, and boring (in my opinion). Their only great piece for me is Cable Car. I prefer the Snow, who at least jump from a "Set The Fire" to a "Hands Open." De Gustibus, obviously.

Among the few metal albums I listen to. A masterpiece.

Anyway, "Get Behind Me Satan" is a great album.

Ah, that's why you already have it... :) I've only heard the single (that is Icky Thump, monstrously beautiful) and a little bit of I'm Slowly Turning To You. I'll rate what I've heard.
Ligabue Sopravvissuti E Sopravviventi

Valerio, did he really plagiarize Oasis? I hadn't noticed that at all... Speaking of Oasis plagiarism. Today I was browsing on YouTube and I stumbled upon the old video of "Io Sono Io" by Daniele Groff. If you like Oasis and haven't seen it yet, go check it out, it's a blast...

The discourse on Ligabue is this; the average Italian seeks security, things that are always the same, they like to think "ah, how nice, there's the new album by Ligabue with his always-the-same guitar riffs, the always-the-same lyrics, the singles from RDS or RTL 102.5 always the same...". Ligabue is a security (in a negative sense), and this appeals to Italians. People like him and Vasco (sigh..) will fill stadiums as long as they're active. The novelty is that now he has also started to copy (ask Guns N' Roses fans what they think about the intro of "Happy Hour"), so I have the impression that yes, we are at the end of the line. Still, better him than the rocker from Zocc(ol)a.
