a hardrock92, I think this is the most commercial album because instead of sticking to the old punk pop standards of the first three records that I liked so much, they changed their style; they wanted to show that they were real punk musicians making hard music, and this was just a way to grab new fans who thought: look how hard the Green Day sound, let’s buy their records... of course this didn’t happen because it sold poorly, and so to try to stay on top of the wave they acted like idiots, selling out to MTV and various majors... making albums that even bands like Queen wouldn’t have had the courage to make... but then I think, Billie Joe doesn’t feel ashamed that he is followed by girls at most 15 years old, boys at most 13 years old, they sell out their concerts with tickets at thirty euros, they do TV ads for their records, they go on Top of the Pops... and he even has the audacity to say they are punk... but where?
