I don't know... you must have bresaola slices over your eyes. The Melvins out of breath? But they're making albums that, in some ways—not my ways—are the best of their career!?! The golden period is really strong, you’re good at this. I know all the stuff done by J Mascis and Lou Barlow (ALL of it, I've had plenty of time since I've never listened to the crap) and golden period is a very powerful expression. Basically, both have been doing the same things for twenty years. I don’t even consider them great artists, just capable of writing or rewriting beautiful songs over and over, and to me, that matters (Neil Young docet). "Paladins of indie" though, that's the best. The albums with which I started listening to the Melvins were released by a major label, same with the Dinosaur. Moral of the story: you’ve written a lot of bullshit and gave a 3 to this crap.

Lux, look, I don’t understand you. You give 3 to fantastic records and then 4 to this steaming pile of crap while boasting about intellectual honesty. It’s pretty much like my high school philosophy teacher did, except she bought her degree. I don’t know, your attitude is slightly scruffy (don’t take offense, oh... I know it’s a harsh word) when you say that Black Sabbath can’t play, and then you give 7 to Aqua.

Regardless of who produced it, this album is pure garbage. Giving a 5 to the latest Melvins is a necessary act (have you heard it?) and a cultural statement, even though a 4 would have been more appropriate. When I was 14, I already found Oasis disgusting; they were too annoying for me even then, let alone now. It's a matter of culture, personal education, and the context in which ideas are formed. Of course, I will never listen to an album like that again; of course, I don't care about the objective data (which doesn’t even exist). For me, this is crap, and they are one of the reasons why I can't respect mankind. Fortunately, I'm a nice guy, a Bukowski kind of nice, I was born round and I'll die round and dumb, but this idiocy from brain-deads really doesn't touch me. Much better Venditti. You call it indie, but indie is something that exists for a few (otherwise, what the hell kind of indie is it?) and I listen to that, I put on blinders, and let these nonsense go to hell (oh, the latest Dinosaur is a 3, but it's good. if you talk to others, my friends, it's a solid 5... and then talking about Melvins or Dinosaur on an Oasis page is crazy. What the hell does it have to do with anything?)
