For me... I don't know... in any case, for me the Minutemen are hardcore just like Black Flag, Minor Threat, and the Descendents... that is, the bands that share the same ideals. As for post... there are many bands I admire, really a lot (Shellac, Fugazi, Jesus Lizard, Scratch Acid, and the Italian ones)... but I can't think in terms of better or worse... maybe post-hardcore has fewer bands, so the greater selection raises the level... while in hardcore, old-school, there are some insane peaks.

The style of the minutemen isn't exactly hardcore... but they are old school... sure, they've started a different conversation, but I don't think the post can come before the pre... I mean, as a logical consequence.
