I also think of motorpsycho... Bent and the others have always called themselves punk-rockers (I mean up to Blissard) and then they experiment heavily... Moreover, they consider the Flaming Lips kindred spirits... I hope I haven't profaned anything.

Oh my God, the first three albums by the Flaming Lips... just thinking about them makes me want to cry!!!

Well, the distance between punk and psychedelia is huge... but if you think about it, the approach isn't that far apart. The way I see it, both genres seek to open up and listen directly to their feelings... sure, one searching for simplicity and the other for richness. Regarding this, I would love to know other people's opinions. Some bands, however, have managed to combine the two... for example, the Flaming Lips from their first five albums... all truly notable (according to my tastes... of course!!!). I like the review, but I don't know the album.

In fact, Lady Sniff didn't give any speech that was extreme, who knows how much. She doesn't like i Verdena... and what's wrong with that? They're not exactly chocolate (and not everyone likes that either). On this site, as long as you're here to flatter, everything's fine... but the moment you say "I don't like this," a storm breaks out. Everyone has their own personal opinion and is right to express it (even if it horrifies someone else). As soon as someone makes a criticism, there's always someone who replies saying either that 90% of things lack innovation or that something can't be criticized because it's historically significant. Damn, but to some people, the Beatles might be awful, to others, Pink Floyd might be terrible? And even if that's the case, what's the harm?

Wow Cox... you could have thrown in a couple more stereotypes... like there are no more mid-seasons, today’s youth, all politicians are the same... and other stuff like that.
Anyway, to gauge the health of Italian rock, I refer you to "Dell'Impero delle Tenebre" by Teatro degli Orrori... there’s no messing around there. Terrifying production, terrifying songs, crazy live shows.

As for the discs of the year, I quote: "Beyond" by Dinosaur Jr, "A Senile Animal" by Melvins, and "Dell'Impero delle Tenebre" by Teatro degli Orrori. There are plenty of them hitting you right in the face.

I just wanted to strengthen my criticisms. I know the group (I mean their productions), I've seen them live several times, I know the pseudo-genre they play, and I think they suck. I simply believe they are dishonest and among the worst at what they do. I find that there is a preconceived intention behind what they create... something like this album should be a bit more like this, this song needs to be more like that. For me, the best things they've done are precisely those where a minimum of sincerity is noticeable... the demo tape and Verdena (the first album)... then, silence. In any case, Italian rock has taken a great path for me... there are dozens and dozens of valid and highly respected bands abroad, but not everyone is born with a silver spoon or with the right mom (a word to the wise is sufficient)... for example: One Dimensional Man, Super Elastic Bubble Plastic, Three Second Kiss, Uzeda, Tre Allegri Ragazzi Morti, IL TEATRO DEGLI ORRORI (these guys really blow you away live), I FuckVegas, Gli Zu, etc. etc.... just need to look around, really.

In my opinion, the problem is the lack of honesty. The Verdena, in this regard, are the worst. Anyway, their music has always been a mix of underground copies... take the song "Il suicidio dei samurai"... take "Traccianascosta" from "In Utero"... well, this is plagiarism. With the new album, they even included the Queens of the Stone Age in their database. Anyone who knows a bit about indie and American alternative stays away from this group as if they had scabies. Anyway, GrantNicolas... I think you saw the concert in the middle of the mosh pit. I've seen them live three times and they are indecent.
