Look... I've said it before... for me, from a technical standpoint, the absolute best is Franz Di Cioccio. De Piscopo, of course, isn't a shoe... for heaven's sake. He's a great musician, but he's not a showman or an octopus as everyone says. Especially, everyone says this nonsense because he himself says: "I am the number one." I know a drummer, I'm not talking nonsense, who has played with PFM, Banco, Osanna, Le Orme (that is, he opened with his band, which, however, hasn't recorded anything and no one knows them), who I just can't see De Piscopo matching. As soon as he plays again, I'll film him and put everything on YouTube because he's a force of nature.

LORD, de piscopo, let me say this as someone who grew up among Neapolitan drummers of that time...the personal contact is visual. Alright: de piscopo is a joke...and it will be until he shows us how he actually plays...by playing I don't mean putting an ashtray on the floor and doing some roll exercises on a Sunday, but sitting down and playing a damn drum set.

Lord, I take the liberty of inserting myself into the storm of posts, but without the intention of posting. I’ll give you my example. I discovered music at 13 with Nirvana, who are still my favorite band, and for two years of my life, I alternated Nevermind only with the remaster of Led Zeppelin... I mean, the best of the 70s and 90s (FOR ME). Now, I agree with you when you say that in the 90s, production starts to become all the same, I’d say from 93/94 onwards... the fact is that with the original Nirvana gone, people began to look for the counterfeit (on this, I invite you to read my review on: 1991: th year punk broke, which is on the homepage)... so having said that (I’m trying to make you understand that I have no preconceived notions), I respect your opinion. In the 70s, as in the 80s and 90s, there are brilliant bands and numerous groups trying to cling to the originality of those bands to make a bit of cash... it seems obvious to me that the dishonest are always lurking.
Anyway, even in the 70s and even in the 60s, production began to sound all the same (and let’s not even talk about the 80s with all its reverbs and sampled drums)... perhaps the contemporary period, from a production point of view, is the most varied, thanks to digital (I should clarify that I’m an analog enthusiast). I don’t know your age (you’re probably attached to those years because you lived through them... good for you), but it seems pure generational bias to me... even as someone young, I can’t stand some music that has spread, like electronic music and all its derivatives... but that doesn’t mean I say absurdities. If I were you, just to understand what we’re talking about, I would investigate a bit (I mean, don’t take offense, but the things you said about Albini are nonsense. He didn’t make billions; he’s one of the best audio engineers (I’m speaking from a technical point of view) that music has ever known; he’s an excellent musician; he’s not at all a businessman).
My advice, completely friendly and without ulterior motives, is to become a connoisseur of music, not just of a particular period or country. Sorry for the rambling.

But how super soul? Weren't you a punk? Someone who lived it?

More than harsh, I’d say ridiculous... as soon as someone expresses their opinion, someone else comes along to say you can’t do that – it’s a classic. What could that possibly mean?

Anyway, the comment that says that Benigni annoys the southern Italians is really beautiful. A gem. I'm a 100% southern Italian, a depraved African who eats garbage, and Benigni doesn't annoy me... on the contrary, he makes me laugh quite a bit. In any case, we remain a little Italy where strange people live, who would like to divide this shitty country. People so stupid that they are chauvinists. Damn, we should be proud: we conquered Ethiopia, we took a lot of beatings from the French, we occupied Greece and then the Germans came to save us. Damn, we should be proud. We have won three World Cups, we are friends/subjects of America. Come on, long live Italian pride & FORZA NAPOLI.
