Damn, it's not that simple. It's just your opinion. It used to be possible to make this clear distinction between indie and major... today it's no longer possible. Indie is no longer music, but an attitude, and to me it has the same meaning as punk (it's just that those who make indie don't always have to be pissed off). Indie is a term that means everything and nothing. The label discussion was relevant once upon a time, when labels actually existed. Now, indies aren’t that different from majors (I say this from personal experience) and are subject, more to marketing than to their own taste. Honestly, to say that these monkeys are as indie as Fugazi... well, it seems you haven't really grasped the essence of indie... and especially Fugazi... I mean, people who don’t do videos, promotions, t-shirts, buttons, and similar crap. So let’s take this example: Dinosaur Jr. went from SST to a major from "Bug" to "Green Mind"... did Dinosaur change? Did they stop doing whatever they wanted? I don't think so, and there are millions of examples like this. When I say indie, I'm not referring to the label (can a band without a contract not be considered indie?)... take Mescal. It’s indie, but operates worse than the majors! I'm done.

I don't give a damn about success. If I thought about success, it would disgust me—why? Because they’ve never had any? Who cares! I judge them based on my tastes, which tell me they totally suck. They’re crap just like their colleagues. Kaiser Chiefs, Maximo Park, Bloc Party, Arctic Monkeys, The Kooks (what the hell are they called?), they’re just crap bands… and don’t come telling me you like them just because they make you move your ass. There are way better things for that. These losers aren't indie because they don’t sound indie, not because of the record label they’re with.
