In my opinion, the 2000s are much sadder than the '80s... musically, the mainstream was garbage, total garbage, but the underground was dropping incredible records; historically, there was a minimum level of clarity... now everything is confusing. You don’t know who is with whom and what they’re doing together... let’s cheerfully say that history is over... bye bye history. I mean, the barbarities of the '80s, which I can relive through indirect sources (that aren’t mine), are less worse than those today, and I mean from every point of view.

oh hemophiliac...I didn't mean to offend you: I think differently from you and I believe it will be this way for the rest of my life on this matter, but I didn't mean to offend you. Everyone is free to think and believe whatever they want, so free, think, that I don’t like anything about either SM or PJ. The world is beautiful because it's diverse...in the meantime, the numbers I gave you and the other information are factual data. Are you calm?

Well, I know quite a bit about Nevermind. For me, it's a religion because it's with this album that I was born and raised (badly, but I grew up). The production, as far as I know, cost 120,000 dollars... basically, for a major label album, that's nothing. Geffen expected to sell 500,000 copies in the first year and, if they were really lucky, maybe reach 1 million. For the Nevermind video, they hired the cheapest director available, who was actually doing his first video, and initially, not a lot of money was invested in promotion. In short, commercial or not, this is an incredible album that managed to exceed all expectations. A testament to this is the live shows, like the one in ’91 in Texas, where the venue was so crowded that people ended up on stage just by turning around (and then there was a fight, blood, and punk rock). To say that this is a commercial product just like Michael Jackson or Britney Spears is a disgusting lie produced by someone with bad faith. Nirvana are honest people (in fact, some even lost their lives because of their success), and they didn't even make all that much money since Geffen was easily cheating them. The problem is that Nirvana is hated because they managed to do honestly what no other group (perhaps except for The Beatles) has been able to do. They brought the underground to the forefront, made a revolution... so they stand out, while caricature bands (Pearl Jam, Smashing Pumpkins) maintain a reputation, and if you say they are commercial, someone will spit at you. Nirvana may not be the best band in history, but they succeeded in being the voice of a generation, and that's something only a few can achieve.
