what a monstrosity (no offense)

I know many people who fought on the wrong side of the war (for me and for humanity) who are far from bad. For example, my girlfriend's grandfather is a staunch fascist, with a history of war and imprisonment, and he still believes in it, but he's really a good person... I mean, you wouldn't picture him as a fascist shooting people and such. On the other hand, my grandfather's family was half exterminated by the fascists since they were anti-fascist and some anarchists... my grandfather participated in the resistance, but the details are impossible to reconstruct since he's one of those people who mixes reality with legend... anyway, he did spend some time in prison. Besides, the post-war witch hunts that treated everyone as potential enemies were a great tragedy for people and families who might not have had anything to do with the horrors that occurred.
