ashanti... why are you getting angry? I notice a sharp tone, but it’s not necessary. It's your opinion that Verdena are a good band and it's my opinion that they are absolutely ridiculous. What's wrong with that? No lessons on the underground... lessons aren't given, they're taken (Cesare Pavese used to say)... it's up to you to inform yourself, to learn, to broaden your horizons. You know, I couldn't care less if you don't know who Mclusky are. You should care that you're missing out on beautiful things. Bye.

In fact, for me, you can be really good without being innovative. If tomorrow morning I write a song made up, in its rhythmic part, of a succession of farts and, in its melodic part, of talking burps, I will be an innovator, but I will be a shit innovator and my music will suck. If tomorrow morning Alberto wakes up and decides to either copy a little riff from Motorpsycho or Nirvana or Queens of the Stone Age, it definitely won't be original. That's the point. Speaking of not innovating, but having originality galore... have you ever heard of mclusky (the perfect synthesis of American indie... from Pixies to Nirvana, from Lizard to Albini... without covertly copying anyone)?

Anyway, it must be said that The Simpsons, for this reason I hold them in high esteem, are the only national-popular thing that also has cultural depth. University exams focused on The Simpsons abound, and there must be a reason for it. You can be original without being innovative. Theatre, for example, may not be innovative, but it is certainly original. The Melvins are the Melvins; no one does what they do (the way they do it), and before them, there was only a B-side of a prestigious LP... Not by chance, they don’t have a reference genre. The Dinosaur may not be innovative (I don't think so), but they are indie rock. Verdena are neither original nor innovative...

only count the albums released in 2007: "a senile animal" by the Melvins (masterpiece), "beyond" by Dinosaur Jr (masterpiece), "dell'impero delle tenebre" by Teatro (an album with that certain something that was missing in Italy)... there are good things out there. if one gets stuck only looking at the first three idiots that come along, it's normal that they won't notice, but if you look around a bit... then live, they suck worse than on the CD. it would really be unfair to compare them... I don't know... with Nomeansno, with Teatro, with Super Elastic, with Uzeda, with Three Second Kiss. don't worry, the good stuff is out there... you just have to search.

ashanti... I've seen them live three times (once for each tour, up until the samurai's suicide) and they always played like crap. let's be honest: they're the worst... and rock is definitely not dead. on the contrary, it's alive and kicking and has no intention of dying.

I don't understand: why can't we appreciate everyone all at once? Why either The Simpsons or South Park? I like all these kinds of cartoons and humor. American Dad was great too, in my opinion.
