Rereading the review and the beginning ("spitting in the subway cars") made me think of something... the sign attached in the old buses that said: no spitting inside the vehicle... as if it needed to be specified. Supersoul, who is from the south like me, has definitely seen it and remembers it. :)

Damn, and nobody mentions INTO THE WILD? I might be a romantic, but I prefer into the wild to the other films this year. This one is also a 5, but the 5 for into the wild has a value that goes beyond the screen... however, as Poletti teaches, I will wait until I have no hair left to pull it out over a film. I hadn't voted.

Hear It Is might be the best place to start... the psychedelia is there, but it feels more like nonsense (and it is) than psychedelia. The others, all nice for a while, are more insolent. Less ballads, fewer loops, and more madness... like a Syd Barrett covered by The Stooges. There you go, more moderate, more serious... then for two albums, they won't hold back at all, then they'll become Pop, then ridiculously dumb Pop, and finally forgettable Pop. Start with Hear It Is, because the Lips are a god of a band.
