ghemi, I completely understand you. I would love to, I swear, to feel represented by le luci della centrale elettrica, and in terms of poetic style, it’s close, but musically it’s almost zero. As far as I’m concerned, the lyrics in music are just sensations and not words. They are music itself, and musically, the guy has nothing beautiful to offer. He could have written a book, but the result on a record seems weak to me. You’re right, it’s a mishmash, and even at the level of lyrics, I want to clarify that Alice doesn’t know it or Ingresso Libero are records by gods. The one by le luci is mediocre, and to compare it to De Gregori, any De Gregori, who may be half dead but still pulls out good songs, is ruthless precisely because De Gregori is De Gregori, and le luci is just le luci.

Here it is, I didn't want to say it, but now I can because an interesting precedent has been set. All these little kids of the mogwai and the mogwai themselves are pretty damn annoying to me, not even that much, it's just a pain in the ass.

le luci della centrale elettrica is nothing but a Gaetano lacking bite. So boring, just like the current De Gregori. The difference is that De Gregori has left behind 5 or 6 full albums... in short, rather than listen to le luci della centrale elettrica, you should listen to Alice non lo sa or Ingresso libero, which you’ll gain more from... all this coming from someone who doesn’t dislike le luci, but I prefer the original: that is, Gaetano.

Regarding the "strappacuore," odra, read the sentence on my personal profile ;)

watching the mars volta live, it seems less like playing from the gut and more like playing randomly, but the difference is slight. I still preferred him, as a guitarist, clearly with at the drive in, who had a completely different vibe.

For a melodic math-rock, a quote from Sing the Troubled Beast by Bastro was needed. The cover is absolutely fantastic.

never listened to anything on record, but seen them live. ah, the soft camels were my cigarettes before the golden virginia.

With this story of the internet and downloading, a lot more records are being sold, qualitatively speaking. I don't mean quantity; I mean quality. When I wanted Dinosaur Jr., their records were out of print. For a long time, I survived solely on Bug and Green Mind... now they're in any store. This year, they even reissued the first two Mission of Burma albums (out of print since '97 and the new edition, with an included DVD, is super cool), as well as the discography, which consists of just two albums, of Squirrel Bait. The idea that downloading kills music is nonsense. Downloading only kills shitty music.
