let's not talk about amps that delve into mystery and pain... my pain. anyway, I don't like Peavey heads, but I do like their combos and I'm seriously considering getting a Peavey Delta Blues with two ten-inch speakers, though I have a feeling I'll end up selling it after a month. ah, the Orange amps I've played on, I don't like them at all... like, zero.

I believe you are the only one in the world, along with a few lutists, who doesn’t think that every guitar has its own way of sounding. :)

But don't you understand or are you pretending not to? I'm telling you that I don't even like the Tele aesthetically and that it's uncomfortable, but if I choose to play with it, it's because I love the SOUND. The sound is the focus; the rest doesn't matter. FOR ME, THE TELE (MY TELE) SOUNDS BETTER THAN ANY IBANEZ. It's not hard to understand, is it? In Naples, we say that if you want to appear beautiful, you have to suffer a little. That satrian model may be comfortable, but it sounds like crap (I MEAN THE SOUND) even when set up with plexiglass. That's how I feel, and I don't care about the trends in guitars, just like I don't care about all the other trends.

I really don’t think that’s the truth. My Tele is heavy and my back is wrecked. On the inside of my right arm, I have no more hair from rubbing, but the fact remains that I wouldn’t change her for an Ibanez for anything in the world. I wouldn't change her clean tone that cuts through everything for anything. It may be a trend (I don’t believe it since, despite being from the USA, I paid less than 300 euros for her and aesthetically, I don’t like the Tele), it may be whatever you want, but I think Ibanez guitars are awful. PERIOD. It’s not a trend; it’s a matter of taste, and it’s also possible to consider a trend those who buy the Satriani Ibanez just because it’s owned by Satriani. That would be an even more ridiculous trend since it sounds artificial and plastic and looks like it got run over by a truck. I try the G&L practically once a week and I don’t like it, but I think it’s just that particular guitar since there are tones made with G&L that could even melt ice pops. As for transistor, valvestate, and tube amps, the discussion is much longer than for guitars and even more painful $$$$$.

Look, you talk about pickups... I can tell you from experience that the guitar sounds terrible and will continue to sound terrible. I didn't bring up standard versions because we were talking about budget guitars (although 650 euros isn’t exactly pocket change). For me, the clean tone is the Telecaster, and I don’t see any other cleans even remotely comparable. As for distortions, don’t believe that the guitar doesn’t play a role; in fact, it has a huge impact. I think the choice is always about vanity. It’s vanity to want that sound, just as it's vanity to have that guitar. The first is positive; the second is negative in my opinion. For me, it’s the sound that matters, and even though the more money you throw at it the better it gets, it doesn’t necessarily mean that a lot of zeros equals a great sound. So I'm not very far from your conclusions, except that the sound of the Ibanez makes me sick—not because it’s ugly (and they are ugly, the Ibanezes) but because of what my ears perceive. Of course, tastes change from person to person, but I just couldn’t see myself represented by an Ibanez. Speaking of budget guitars, I think of the Hagstrom. Hagstrom is Swedish, and the guitarist of Motorpsycho uses them, swapping their pickups for Gibson P-94s. Well, with 500 euros and a new pickup, you can achieve a godly sound (in my opinion)... something you won’t get by putting an Ibanez on a Fender Twin.

1) I've never been a trendy kid, and I don't even know how horse jeans are made; I haven't bought clothes in at least two years. 2) The entry-level Fenders, I mean Made in USA, cost around 650 euros (the Highway and they sound divine). The SGs start at 850 euros. So that's less or about the same as a badly made Ibanez with a neck glued under the headstock and aerodynamic shapes meant to slay vampires. 3) Can we compare the sound of a Telecaster with that of an anonymous Ibanez without any special features and the crunch of an SG? Forget it ajeje, you're talking a load of nonsense. I haven't been a kid for a long time, and I've seen my fair share of guitars. Ibanez guitars are too clean for my tastes and are generally nothing special; if someone wants to spend little, there are valid alternatives to a filthy Ibanez out there.

Comparing an Ibanez to a Jaguar is like comparing a Virago to a Harley. You are losing touch with reality.

I repeat, then I'm off because we're from too different worlds. For me, the only artistic merit that Satriani could possibly have is that he can hang pictures straight on the wall. He sucks, his guitar sucks, his damn Peavey amp sucks, and his little effects are amateurish. Considering Satriani as a guitarist is something that sends chills down my spine and is definitely offensive to those who have actually done something with this instrument. Even Denilson was a technical monster, but as a football player, he was terrible. The same goes for Satriani. That said, I'm not going to humiliate myself by talking about crap, which isn't less music but just a mental wank, that certain guitar owners (of the damn sort... the most you can do with an Ibanez is make a bonfire) indulge in in front of the mirror. Tschuss.

"Jimi did it and remains a legend, but he didn't have the technical mastery that these academic guitarists possess"... they are reaching absolute peaks. Damn, you lost your eardrums in poker.
