this is the serious comment: a pleasant and thorough review, especially considering that it’s a collection of b-sides and rarities: I don’t love compilations, or rather, I find it difficult to talk about them; they lack "the emotional compactness" typical of an album (well, I’m stating the obvious). this particular box set is perhaps too extensive (and expensive) for someone who doesn’t have an immense interest in the band. (Unfortunately for my financial situation) I do have it (the interest)...at least this box has some fillers, that’s true, but at least it doesn’t have any real junk like the home demos of Robert Smith found on the deluxe editions (yes, I have those too), some of which are truly unbearable due to recording quality (among small gems)...
