What do you say, Lord? Lennon only made 3 timeless songs? I Want You, Hold Your Hand, A Hard Day's Night, I Feel Fine, Ticket to Ride, Day Tripper, Help, Norwegian Wood, Nowhere Man, Girl, Rain, In My Life, Tomorrow Never Knows, I'm Only Sleeping, A Day in the Life, Lucy in the Sky, Strawberry Fields, I Am the Walrus, Happiness Is a Warm Gun, Dear Prudence, Sexy Sadie, Julia, Come Together, Because... I count 23, all excellent, classics... of these, tell me at least which ones would be the timeless ones.

In the Beatles, there is no Vietnam War, there are no young people in the square protesting, there are no LSD orgies, there is only the reflection of a conservative society... this is what NEU says. Meanwhile, I say that the Vietnam War ended not because of four pimple-faced flower children but for imperialist political strategic reasons. The squares full of protesters? Was it enough to use this argument (very fashionable at the time) to write a song suitable for the times? LSD orgies? How many billions of dollars has the drug market produced? I believe it’s thousands of times the revenue of all the records sold and that will be sold by the Beatles. Who benefits from this? What is revolutionary about being disliked by a handful of hypocritical moralists? Today those moralists, all home and church, have realized that rock serves to gather young people in all kinds of religious associations... where has all this revolutionary wave gone that the Beatles have lost? These are arguments that leak from all sides. It’s unbelievable that people like NEU, driven by people like Scaruffi, can still believe in certain historical nonsense. It would be enough to simply say... "I don’t like the Beatles, period."

Adrian..the world is not divided between the American people (perpetrators) and other peoples (victims); America is full of victims of the system. The world is divided between those who have economic and political power (bourgeoisie) and those who are educated to adapt to the system that subjugates them (proletariat). These two social classes can be found in every part of the globe..with the necessary cultural and economic differences, of course. It goes without saying that the American bourgeoisie, being the most powerful, determines the way of life for the rest of the world; however, it is also true that humanity learns to correct itself from those who make the biggest mistakes..you yourself have the opportunity to see these macroscopic horrors, as do many others like you..as you can see, not all evil comes to harm.

Adriano, you talk about Americans in shopping malls with hotels, and you may be right... but what is the Adriatic coast for you in summer (and not only that) if not a shopping mall with hotels paired with dirty sea? Does that seem normal to you?

Stephen Merritt of the "Magnetic Fields" has called them the greatest rock band of all time... a bit of an exaggeration, though...
