Talking about albums like this is always difficult. In this case, the review doesn't exceed the passing mark.

I have also heard some songs...it's evident the commercial shift (already taken with this album) but the quality level has skyrocketed.

Has anyone heard the new songs? I've heard a few (The howling, the truth beneath the rose, what have you done, the heart of everything)... I have to say they are an excellent continuation of the path taken with "The silent force"... with the peculiarity of not having excessive and overwhelming orchestrations, more refined guitars, a tremendous vocal variety (often Sharon abandons the falsetto), and above all, magnificent choirs... that would make Therion jealous. Among the ones I've listened to, the best is definitely "The truth beneath the rose." When I get my hands on the album, I might write a review. In the meantime, I can say that the band confirms its status as one of the masters in symphonic-operatic metal.

In my opinion, the peak of their career was "epica," the natural evolution of the sound developed with the previous albums and, above all, with this one, which I consider more than sufficient. I also greatly appreciated "a sailorman's hymn," as well as all the other ballads of the band. Meanwhile, the best power tracks are found on the following album. Among them, "farewell." Halaa!

To know whether a piece of writing is good or not, I cannot deprive myself of the possibility of reading it!!

Well, the absence of a response indicates that what I've said doesn't stray far from reality.
