What can I say, an honest album, with some standout moments like the two splendid opening tracks. However, when it tries to be a songs of f&d, it doesn't convince; it's no longer the time for those things. The lyrical themes are also quite repetitive.

@reverse: look, La Folie is really good, but from '81 onwards they've become almost a different band. To hear the true Stranglers, go straight to Rattus Norvegicus and you won’t regret it!

For me, it's a three and a half stars, seriously, consciously. It's a nice album but it lacks a memorable gem. By the way, "Walk on by" was included with the vinyl in the first editions, but including it entirely wouldn't have been a bad idea.
