Everyone has their skeletons in the closet; I have this one. I like it. Let's be clear, it might be the worst album by Floyd, but I like it... Anyway, the choice of album to review isn’t the happiest, you know... Hello!

RitaLeen looks at Cave in '83, he may have also made From Her and in the '90s (I don't remember the year) Boatman's Call, but that doesn't mean he has to constantly improve (there are people out there who say Boatman's is crap...). Cave is not Midas, the quality of an artist's productions is naturally fluctuating (I'd worry if it were the opposite :-)). But this Grinderman seems really good to me (though we're back to the subjective discussion, which is too long). As for the "artist always the same" vs "artist who does something new" debate, that was just a little vent, sorry, it's just that it brings to mind sterile and endless discussions I've had on other reviews. PS: it's obvious you enjoy being here, it's the coolest site on the web :-D Bye!

The review is written quite well, but I don't agree with anything that's been said. It feels like we're back to the same old discussion: if an artist doesn't change course a bit, some people complain about "the same old albums," while if they make an album different from the previous ones, then they've "lost it" or "sold out." Nick Cave, at 50, made a thoroughly enjoyable album and had the courage to reinvent himself (which left a lot of people, you included, unhappy), something I personally find admirable. Then the comparison with the Birthday Party or Bad Seeds is really irrelevant: if you prefer them, go listen to them again without necessarily making comparisons with this. PS: welcome! Bye.

But are Cranial Impalation as fiki as Devourment or less?
In any case, you're a legend; reviews like this don't just come out of nowhere...

Welcome, Desi! Wonderful review and intriguing suggestion, I have to give it a listen. PS: can I ask where you are from? Hi!

Envy, envy, envy! I wanted to go too, but commitments that I won't elaborate on prevented me. Anyway, anyone who's seen them live confirms your feeling: it's a bit like a "little trip" of more than an hour into their world. Basically, an awesome experience! PS: the review gets a 5 regardless, especially since it was done at 4 in the morning :-O. Bye!

I didn’t understand a damn thing, but I can’t rate it lower than 5. Highly recommended.
