"... this is my first review on this site. And I don't think it will be the last" Too bad.

"... barely 35 minutes" I didn't know that the quality of music was measured by the minute. "... with CDs hitting prices of 20 euros and more" CDs are the only thing that over time, especially with the advent of the euro, have decreased in price; you could come up with new excuses, especially considering that the album we're talking about is available for download at $6 (4.75€). As for the rest, you might be right, I feel the fatigue too, but I won't express it because I'm biased. His voice remains something incomprehensible to the human being!

Bravo, I wanted to write the review of this myself, but I need time to digest the albums, and I definitely wouldn't have been able to make it as good as yours! The album still leaves me perplexed, and I've always loved both Radiohead and Yorke's solo work, but I find it too "understated." Probably what you describe as muffled, to me is simply stifled; in short, the atmosphere is indeed reminiscent of Amnesiac (my favorite by the way), but the result doesn't convince me. I'll take some time before rating the album, but I’ll vote for you right away!

Great review, intriguing proposal, although I have the feeling it might be a bit too claustrophobic for me.

I was waiting for someone to review this album, and you didn't do a bad job at all! Honestly, I liked it, just like I liked Blunderbuss. On the other hand, I never really adored the White Stripes and the Raconteurs, but I really appreciated the two albums by the Dead Weather. All in all, I’ve listened to Jack White and I think I can give a judgment: this man is not a phenomenon, he won't be remembered in the future as a great, but he has a head full of ideas! He might not exploit them well, but at least he has them! In this album, in my opinion, he has developed them properly, leaving aside the garage noise that made him famous (which I don't like) and focusing on a retro folk-rock revisited in his own way. In short, it may not be to everyone's taste, but he has created his own trademark by now, and for me, that’s quite an achievement.

Remember the mother philosophical maxim: it’s not the music you listen to that sucks, it’s the world that is crap!
