Sure, as soon as I can (that is, at home and not at work) I’ll hop on MySpace to listen to a couple of tracks. Thanks, burdèl!

Damn, but I don't have Vortex, Rise, Chain of Flower, and Decoration Day on the original album... But where did you guys get them?

alessioIRIDE, do you take a cut from the Teatro degli Orrori records? You're practically advertising them everywhere... What genre is it? I assume that despite the name, they sing in English, right?

Of course, Kosmo, I didn't mean that your promos were "robbed." I had also heard something on the official MySpace a couple of months ago, and it was faithful to the album. My intention was just to give a warning (perhaps useless) and not to insinuate anything.

Burdèl is "badilata" and it's confusing some emotions, or am I wrong? By "badilata," I mean a song that resonates within you with a rare energy, and when you listen to it again after some time, it brings back all the intense feelings it made you experience the first time you heard it. If I tried listening to a really intense metal track that I'm not used to at all, I would probably get hit with a badilata in the face as well, but in a totally different (almost physical) sense. For me, Grinderman resonates deep inside, and I don’t mean in the heart but in the stomach!

Well Kosmo, here the album has been reviewed, not the promos... I don't want to say that the "official" versions are better or worse (it's a matter of taste), I just want to point out that when talking about details like recordings, sounds, mixes, etc., it would be better to make sure we're discussing the same tracks. @Festwca: my little face is quite fragile, so even for me the Grinderman sound like heavy blows.

Whether it's a midlife crisis or not, I like it a lot. @Festwca: be careful, it happens that tracks downloaded from the internet (more or less legally) are mixed/recorded in a completely different way from the original, which can give different sensations when listening (see badilate vs ballatone).

Indeed, I feel like quoting Festwca: the recording seems "clean" to me, or at least I wouldn't define it as "muddy." I've never heard the Birthday Party, but I did hear the first Cave: I like that one too, but I believe it's different: to be clear, From Her To Eternity was as beautiful in '84 as Grinderman is in 2007. However, I don't feel like making a comparison, come on, there are more than twenty years between them!

Well-written review, although the content is debatable. I can't stand them, I can't stand his voice and especially their attitude (nor obviously the genre they propose). I want to say a couple of words about the musicians' preparation: if I go to see a paid concert, the least I expect is that the musicians of the band in question don't make mistakes in performing the pieces (especially if they are written by them). So, if the Verdena aren't great technically, that's one thing, but I believe that a flawless live performance is the bare minimum.
