POLARBEAR Why Something Instead Of Nothing ?

Hi Hopeless. You say at the bottom of the review that the album is available for free download: did I misunderstand or am I the one who's thick and can't find it? In the end, thanks to you H, I managed to listen to the album (and also the Deconstruction) and now I can give my opinion. In my view, it's an excellent album, full of that sick rock typical of a certain trend from the 90s. It's as if the excesses and the extravagance of Jane's Addiction have been stripped away, leaving only the discomfort!
To be honest, the album under the name Deconstruction is a bit more immediate; Navarro's guitar puts the listener more at ease, but this one, after more listens, pays off more. It has nuanced and refined influences and sounds that don't get tiring in the long run.
Yeah, in short, an album that's the real deal!

Beautiful! Certainly, definitely too long, but I like your way of describing the atmospheres of the album (smoky sound, like a polluted and sticky evaporation exhaling slowly…). I might have done 2 separate reviews, one for the EP and the other for the album, but it remains a very enticing proposal!

Hopper painted atmospheres, that's why I like him. And I like him a lot. For this reason, I do not vote or judge your review, which I didn’t like very much. But I, as you know, am biased…
The Chieftains The Chieftains 4

I’ve been to Ireland, and not too long ago. I went to pubs (the non-touristy ones), but I sat down quickly because a young couple in their 80s invited me to join them at their table. And the grandfather drank more than I did! I listened to kids half my age playing instruments forgotten by the rest of the world, and I asked a guy (a shepherd?) for information in the middle of absolute nowhere after wandering among acres of grass for an hour. So I understand what you mean, but I have a problem: I don’t have the slightest idea who the Chieftains are (nor the others you mention throughout the review). Maybe I’ll give them a listen; who knows, it might be my thing. PS: back in the "sheet music in hand" days, I couldn't stand you, but with "Ireland in hand," you’ve scored some points...
