It's incredible how many prejudices arise around a band as soon as they start to achieve worldwide success. Truly absurd.

Steno, forgive me, but honestly, between "Uyea Sound" and "Underneath the Stars," I really don't see that resemblance... I mean, it's a long "atmospheric" instrumental; we can catch some distant echoes with the intro of "Underneath," but to call it a rearranged track... that requires quite a bit of imagination in my opinion. I would have understood if someone said, "it recalls the sound of Disintegration," okay, but that specific song... I don't know. As for "Sleep When I'm Dead," well, I don't think they're the first or the only band that decides to revitalize past tracks that have been put aside. In fact, it seems quite common these days. Does this indicate a decline in inspiration? Yes, it's very likely. And in fact, "Sleep When I'm Dead" doesn't say anything to me either. I prefer the other tracks on the album. Anyway, I don't see this as a record of abortions. Instead, I think there are great songs, not at the level of the albums produced in the past, but to call them abortions... Honestly, I would call "Taking Off" or "Never" abortions, which to be totally sincere, I don't even remember that much because it was so bad (Freudian removal)... I don't know! We're all in agreement, at the very least, that the Cure are not what they used to be. But what the hell can I expect after thirty years of a career...

@Vì: aligning Paul Bley with The Cure, in my opinion, is at least pretentious. In any case, even if we find rock bands of sixty-year-olds making high-level music, I strongly doubt that's the rule rather than the exception.

leave it alone, the album is beautiful and inspired even if it's not a masterpiece. for a band of fifty-year-olds, it's even too much!
