Pennywise Land Of The Free?
Voto:
Given that I prefer their "masters" Bad Religion, I only know "Pennywise" and "Unknown Road," melodic hardcore characterized by speed and sudden breaks. For me, they're neither to be dismissed nor overly praised.

Well, I listened to it again after reading Azzo's comment. The album is pleasant and she sings well; moreover, it's not a cover album as I thought, but the tracks are all written by 4 - 5 musicians, usually Cilmi, Coler, Cooper, Higgins... and a couple of others. It deserves all three stars, but Echo Beach is much better sung by Martha and The Muffins, and there aren't even the saxophones that close the track. If I find it, I'll post a link.
The Folk Implosion One Part Lullaby
Voto:
I like Folk Implosion, this is a good record. Good review.
Natacha Atlas & The Mazeeka Ensemble Ana Hina
Voto:
More than the beautiful Atlas, I was intrigued by Fairuz, of whom I managed to obtain a collection. Very talented, but it's not what I've been looking for over the past few years and what I listened to on Life Gate radio, wonderful Arabic music with a lot of use of the Tam Tam. I know nothing else, except that she is not Cheb Khaled.

When I heard the version of "Echo Beach," I thought they could have spared us because the original is better, so I listened to the album only once. Maybe a little obsession is too little; I’ll give it 2.5, which I round up to 3.
David Vandervelde Waiting for the Sunrise
Voto:
If I can still share my thoughts, the album is nice, but listening to it, I couldn't help but think that the wonderful musicians of the '60s and '70s are something else. I don’t know, it seems to me that the level has dropped. Badly Drawn Boy has talent, as do Hayden or Idaho and a couple of others. But the large number of talents that were heard in what I consider the golden years of rock are gone.

A collection of songs that stands at more than respectable levels. My favorites are "Someone Like You" and "Waiting For the Sunrise." It's just right to compare Young's "Need for Now" and "Lyin' in Bed." A review that says everything that needs to be said.
